Eduard O. Merc, holds multiple Degrees. He has a Doctorate Degree (Ph.D.) in Education/Educational Technologies and Learning Design. A Master of Science Degree in Information Systems (MSIS). A Master of Business Administration (MBA) Degree from Hawai’i Pacific University. And received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Systems and International Business Management from Brigham Young University-Hawaii Campus.
He currently works as a Manager, Learning Design and Support at Hawaiian Airlines, and enjoys it greatly! He teaches as an adjunct faculty instructor at Hawaii Pacific University (HPU) as well as at University of Hawaii at Manoa (UHM). He’s a Co-founder/CEO of his own small-business home-based venture (Merc-Enterprises, LLC), which provides Business/Technology Services to small-business Clients in Hawai’i and Travel Services to/from Hawai'i and Eastern Europe.
Born in Slovakia, EU, formerly known as Czechoslovakia, Eastern Europe, he was a Professional ATP Tennis Player, which has brought him here to the beautiful Hawaiian Islands in 1998, to play as a NCAA Student Athlete for UH, HPU, and BYUH from 1998 to 2003. During this time period, he won 2 consecutive National NCAA Tennis Titles for BYU-Hawaii Men's Tennis Team (2002/2003).
He has a strong passion for education, business, and technology. He loves to teach and be taught to explore/understand new things in life. After completing his Ph.D. Degree at UH-Manoa, he spent time researching various ways to use business models and computer technology to enhance educational aspects of lifelong learning and knowledge adaptation among individuals (especially among adult learners and the military student population) as well as studying various educational technologies to improve learning.
